EWB-UC Irvine Opportunities
EWB at UCI is much more than Engineering and has opportunities for students of all disciplines. Implementing sustainable projects requires a diversified team of motivated students from a variety of fields. For this reason EWB at UCI is partnering with other campus organizations to integrate fields which often seem unrelated to achieve a common goal.
All students both undergraduate and graduate are welcome and ecouraged to join any area of our group regardless of experience or field of study.
Engineering and Science Students
Both
EWB at UCI and EWB-OC have opportunities for students of all
science and engineering fields. From structural and civil engineering to computer science, all areas of
expertise are needed. No experience is necessary so please come,
join, and learn how to solve real world problems affecting people around the globe.
Public Health, Urban Planning, Social Ecology, and Social Science Students
The Public Health Team is now the Community Development Team! This diversified team is the foundation in understanding how our projects can best
improve the quality of life in the communities we help. This team will work with the engineering team to develop a well-rounded project focused on the
communities needs from a public health and urban planning perspective. Those working in this team have the exciting opportunity to develop an understanding
of the complex interplay between culture, health, and community development. We are also partnering with the Public Health Association on campus to offer
more students a chance to get real world experience. Students of all fields are welcome to join!
Business and Marketing
Students
EWB at UCI is also partnering with the
American Marketing Association
. Together we aim to develop a marketing team which will work
on promoting EWB at UCI in both the student and professional arena. Currently
the position for Marketing Chair is open for a dedicated student looking to lead our
marketing team. The marketing chair will direct the team in our
marketing/fundrasing strategy while reaching out and advertising to both students and possible professional sponsors.
