About EWB at UC Irvine

Engineers Without Borders - USA (EWB-USA) is a national organization comprised of both professional and student chapters. EWB-USA has over 350 projects in 45 countries, addressing issues such as water and sanitation, agriculture, and renewable energy.

EWB at UC Irvine was founded in September of 2009 and has focused on creating a team of students capable of addressing international development from a variety of perspectives. It is the vision of EWB at UC Irvine that engineering alone, though extremely important, is only one of the necessary components needed in helping provide communities with lasting solutions.

The foundation our philosophy lies within the structure of our chapter which is composed of three main branches; Engineering, Community Development, and Business. In addition to our dedicated members, the schools of Engineering, Public Health, and Social Ecology are strong supporters of EWB at UC Irvine.
